I am having trouble with the court system.
Problems in this area are matters properly before the court and the "separation of powers" clause of the Michigan Constitution prohibits legislators from getting involved in a court case. Legislators are prohibited from intervening in any court decision, either before or after it has been issued.
I can be helpful however, if you are experiencing administrative problems with the Friend of the Court system; for instance, if your ex-spouse has had money for child support withheld from his or her paycheck but you have not received a child support payment.

I believe that a business or corporation has either over-charged me or not delivered the goods or services for which I paid.
All consumer transactions in Michigan are governed by law and there are a number of ways that I can be helpful to individual consumers who believe they have been treated unfairly. A few examples of consumer complaints with which I can be helpful would be concerns about the item pricing law, questions about your insurance coverage, or problems with your utility company.
It is important to know that in most instances, I will only be able to give you accurate answers to questions you have or direct you to the correct person or agency with whom you should be speaking. I can not get around state rules and regulations. Disputes about contract terms can only be resolved by the parties to the contract or by a court of law.

I was attempting to locate a particular bill in the legislature, but I do not know the bill number. Is there another way I can find it?
When attempting to locate a bill without knowledge of the bill's number, try the various search tools on the Bills page at the http://legislature.mi.gov website. Searches on the Bills page allow you to locate bills based on sponsors, subject categories, keywords, etc.
Each time you use one of these searches, the results page will include a column containing the digest for each bill which should assist you in locating the desired bill.
