LANSING — State Rep. Alex Garza (D-Taylor) was officially sworn in today to represent the 12th House District for the 2019-2020 legislative session. The swearing-in ceremony marked the formal opening of Michigan’s 100th Legislature. In response, Rep. Garza issued the following statement:

“I am proud to represent our community in the state House, and I am eager to hit the ground running and to continue the proud tradition of providing Taylor, Romulus, and Van Buren Township with a strong voice in our state government. I will work tirelessly to ensure our community’s priorities are the Legislature’s priorities, and that means fighting to increase access to quality education for all Michigan residents, as well as lowering our costly auto insurance rates, fixing our roads and rebuilding our crumbling infrastructure.”
